Johns Pictures of east coast

there are just a few here for general consumption.... having a fab time... just in Hervey Bay, Queensland and its 33 degrees today. Driving is a sweaty betty business. Surf was had in NSW around north sydney... very good banks down there. Tim and me are having a ball although i am missing my German navigator Danny boy. Life has become a strict regime of beach action. Tomorrow Timmy and I are going to Fraiser Island for three days and two nights... it is just an island of sand... a bit like shipwrecked on TV. and we have a 4x4 share with 8 ppl. Should be fun...work on the pommy tan... Life is so good that were even doing well in the cricket....

Where are we?

Well we are now chasing the others and are located in the blue mountains. We picked the senior laga’s up from Melbourne airport and drove down the ocean road (again,) back through the mornington peninsula, round the sw coast to Batemens bay, up to camberra, down to Sydney and 2.500km later the blue mountains.

I have surfed many times on the way round in some amazing waves and been beaten many times in and outside of closouts, I love it.

Now we be in Byron

Hey Guys,

Oh man busy busy busy life, we have just been doing so much and so much of nothing its ridiculous!

Jonny and myself have now reached Byron bay in northern NSW by wazy of Sydney, the blue mtns, Hunter valley, Hawks nest and myall lakes national park, Port Maquerie, Crescent head, Nambucca Heads, Coffs Harbour and Lennox Head.

Sydney was great fun though horribly expensive, as we all know it is a very beautiful city with some great beaches and waves. We stayed with Jen a friend from school days, oh the happy memories!

The blue mountains were so beautiful, a series of high plateaus with deep canyons running through them, we stayed down at a camp ground in the middle of the forest, met a great guy down there who we then did the bush walk with the next day, a great path that cut its way down a deep gully deep onto the forest floor, that was the last time we saw rain or clouds!

We then drove north inland through some incredible forest up to the hunter valley, yep thats right, some very fine wine tasting was on the cards, its certainly not a beautiful as other wine reigons but still excellent spot.

We then hit the coast and within half an hour i was in the water surfing some beautiful clean waves, i was the only person out in the chest high surf and that gave me big shark willies, Jonny had them too when swimming, ah the joys of the ozzy coast! Since then its been lots of the same, cruising around, chilling out in the great weather on beaches, havinbg bbqs and enjoying some beautiful waves.

Crescent head, the home of ozzie longboarding is a great wave, a long peeling point break, yep, goota go there guys, big time! Byron bay is a touch dissapointing on the waves, theswell aint great and the wind is making a mockery of what should be some fun and excellent surf. Sorry for too much wave chat, i think jonny should write this next time you may get a more rounded view :)

Bassically its great, the scenery is so good with sub tropical forested hills dropping out onto golden sand beaches in perfect blue sunshine. We will wack some pics on soon. Keep it real

Melbourne to Sydney

Dan my German friend and I, JC traveled the plains of Eastern Victoria insearch of beautiful spots and waves. Many a good time was had during the 7 day adventure. I have purchased a bangor mobile and it just about made it to sydney, only done 320'000km.... It was comfy enough to sleep in the back with air beds and with a good chill out CD cruzed to: -

• mornington / Phillip Island
• wilsons prom / mallacoota
• camberra / woolongong

This is the end!

This is it, our time in melbourne is done, we have done our 6 months of working, partying, pickling and many other crazy and wonderful things is over. We now head seperate ways to take you on a journey through time and space (east coast oz)

It is real sad to be leaving our ridicyulous house and so many amazing friends we have met since being here, i must say its all rather emotional, tears will be shed!

We have a massive car which is just glorious, we call him tim. A 4litre ford falcon, crazy stuff so he will be taking us to Darwin, awesome. We will be keeping regular updates from here on in, see ya there :)
