Yes Yes actually

So yeah, the morning after the party we again saw quite a big load the the young crew. They had also been caning around the car par park in their Terrano and other rubbish cars, it was so random and funny.

We fondly said goodbye to Bethells, the comedy had been great and we have probably made history by going there. They didnt seem used to backpackers. From there we went north up to Baylis beach, a massive stretch of sand with very friendly locals that all drive around on the beach! The dunes were pretty big with crazy sand cliffs above them. The inland countryside had been a bit flat andf boring . Just so changeable.

That evening we went the Lake tarahoa, a really deep freshwater lake with silicon base so there were perfect white sand beaches. The water was blue and so fresh. Like swimming in a bottle of evian. It was idillic, surrounded by forest which the next morning was explored.

later on we went to the Kauri forests, these used to extensivly cover the north island and are full of tropical plants and Kauri trees. We saw one that had a 16.48m Girth trunk, just ridiculous. The storm really kicked off then and it was soaking. We stopped again at Hokianga where there is a large inlet. JC and CG went missioning. The wind was howling and sand was everywhere, wearing us away. Waves were big and stormy and mad in general.

Bay of islands was next. We all hired out some ocean Kyaks from this crazily stoked guy and explored the islands, paddle over from Paihia to Russel where the oldest pub in NZ is.

Next day we were heading south again and found ourselves at sandy bay, we had the beach to ourselves nearly all day. No waves again but we climbed trees, ran, swam biult a sandcastle and found a river inlet where the tide was going in, there were rapids and massive currents, the mucked about the for ages. Jonny was oin the relax day, he devoured his book, well another 100 pages!

It is all just mint and all are having much fun. Missing you all!
